How to Improve Your Speaking in English

  Today, foreign languages are very important for people because it is the symbol of being a universal person. English is the most common foreign language in the world that’s why people always try to learn it. English has many parts to learn. Writing, grammar, reading, listening and speaking are the skills of English. One of them is given the most importance; speaking. There are many reasons which make it the most important one. If you agree that speaking is very important and need to improve it, you can follow these steps which I am going to mention to improve your speaking.

  Firstly, you should find a course which is working with native speakers. If you do not need to other skills in English you can just join speaking class. When you go to the course you should talk with a person who is interesting in your problem. You can take speaking lessons for 2 days in a week. So, you start to practice your speaking skills and at the course which you chose you probably have foreign friends with whom you can continue your friendship after the lessons.

  As a second step, if you have foreign friends as I mentioned, you should skype and chat with them. You can also meet with them so that you start to practice your speaking outside of the course and you can see that you will get use to make speeches in English. While speaking English looks like an unfamiliar job, after you do what I said your ideas will change and you will feel relax during your English speeches.

  Lastly, you should visit a foreign country where you can speak only English with people. It is necessary because if you do it you will improve either your speaking or your self-confidence while speaking. You will start to trust yourself and also you will have already got use to speak in English so you will start to think in English which will make you better in English.

  In conclusion, there are some ways to improve your English in speaking. I told some steps for make it easier. If you want to do something for your language and also meet some new cultures and people you can follow these steps.

My Observation

On the 22th of March I observed an oral communication class. The class was a little big and there were about forty chairs which were grey. There were no technological equipments and the walls were light blue. There was a panel which was drawn by students with some caricatures. The class was light and the cap was high. There were one table which was rectangle and also one teacher table which had a different style than normal tables. Teacher came in and he was wearing pink shirt, on his shirt there was a dark green feather and he was wearing a pair of black trousers on black shoes. There is not any part which attracts students’ attention too much. When he came into the class he said to students to put their cell phones on their bags. After he said good afternoon to his students, he ordered his table and started to take attendance. He looked like a little angry and his students seemed like nervous and stressful. He divided the class in three groups and they could see their faces but also they were in separate groups. He carried his chair in front of the class and sat in the middle of these groups. He asked about what they did lastly, students answered him, as a result they reminded information which was given in previous lessons. After that they opened their books and started to read a part which teacher said to read. The subject was visual aids and its types. Then he made all class speak about what they understood from the passage and joined them with his own examples. Besides, he wanted from students to do the exercises on the book, after they finished it, they started to answer. There was a student whose duty was making a speaking game, the teacher allowed her to do her game and sat at the back of the class.

Assignment 4

Everybody gives love an importance. Most of them shape their life through love. Love can be in every relationship. However, there is a place in which people show their love each other most, it is called family.  This picture shows us that situation. It is a room which seems like a saloon and also used as a bedroom by family members. The house is made with wood and there is just one window which is half broken and closed with papers. Sun is brightening the bed on which six boys and parents are sleeping. The boys are blond and they are little. They have just one blanket on them and they are sharing it. On the blanket there is a dog which is also sleeping. It is brown and very sweet. Father’s and one of the son’s feet are appearing from the blanket. Mother, father and three sons are sharing one pillow and the others are sharing one pad, too. With parents and three boys there is a cat which is sleeping next to pillow. It is yellow and has white lines. It is very small one. Each of them is smiling. When you see that it makes you think they are the happiest people in the world. The bed is very old and about to collapse. There is heater in the room which seems like unnecessary because their smiley faces are already heating the room. Father has an umbrella among their hands like it is used for protect their family members. There is a chicken which is looking them in front of the bed. The room is small, the bed is not enough to cover eight people, one cat and one dog but their heart is very big so they do not need anything else. The sun is shining on them like wants to show everybody their love and happiness. This painting, which is made by Abidin Dino, is called ‘the picture of happiness’ and these which I mentioned are the reasons why people call this picture with this name. Love does not require anything.

CLOUDS

It was 27^th September. I cannot remember the year. She was trying to wake up like every day she does. She snoozed her alarm clock and slept for ten minutes. After the second snooze she finally woke up.  Then she went to toilet and washed her face. When she looked through the mirror she noticed that her face was blooding! It was horrible because she could not see her face because of the blood. She touched her face and cleaned the blood. She finally could see her eyes. When she saw them, she noticed that she forgot the real color of her eyes. Then she left the bathroom and run to the sitting room because there was voice from there. As soon as she arrived there, she saw that the TV was opened and she looked at it. She was shocked! She closed her eyes and reopened again to see clearly, no there were no differences. She did not make a mistake, it was she! She was on the TV and police were searching her. She tried to raise the volume of the TV but she could not. She could just watch herself on TV but with doing anything. She touched her face before looked her hand if bleeding stopped or not. It was decreasing but her heart attack was increasing. She could not understand anything and decided to go to the doctor to show her face but what if police were going to arrest her? Although she did not know anything about her hunting, she was scared. There was nothing to do and she finally decided to leave home and see a doctor.  While she driving, she saw many cabs but she could escape from them. She achieved to arrive. She ascended the stairs and opened the doctor’s door without knocking. Doctor was surprised because it was not allowed to enter without knocking. As soon as he started to shout at her, she cut his speech and told that she had bleeding. The doctor saw what she said and told his patient that he should leave for few minutes. He examined her and wanted some examinations. She waited for hours and everything culminated. The doctor called her and said to her to sit. He started his speech;

-Have you ever talked with yourself?

-Are you kidding? She replied, I was thinking that I am here for examination!

-You should calm down, I am a doctor and also your doctor you should just answer my question, have you ever tried to touch yourself? Do you really care yourself? You are here because there was something wrong with your body and you thought that if you had not gone to doctor, you would have died. So you scared to die.

-A…Uuuh..Well…I cannot reply you doctor, I cannot.

-If you are really afraid of death, I think you are, it means that you love living and do not want to leave. But if you really do, you should have already answered my questions. You hushed yourself… Let’s get back to the examinations. There is no problem. You just ignore yourself and it is mad at you. That is all. Bleeding is just your body’s reaction. It tries to say something. I will give you a prescription. Try to do it.

He elongated the prescription and there is just a word that written on it;

“LISTEN.”

She drove home. She thought all along the road. When she arrived home she immediately opened the TV and looked for her news but there was not anything about her.

She went to her bed and slept. The day after, she wanted to go to the doctor again, she had many questions. They had really long conversation and she realized that because of her hunger of seeing herself, she just imagined that she was on the TV. The bleeding is just about her eyes, she looked her eyes after a long period and her body wanted to tell her something. That was all. She was relaxed now and after these experiences she started to be more sensitive to herself. There was long and perfect way which is waiting for her. When she realized that, she could start to walk. Clouds the rest...

  By the way, I guess you have been wondering about the information of ‘her’. Maybe you thought that I forgot to give her a name or I forgot to start. No, I did not. Of course she has a name but I do not know her name because I do not know your name. What is your name?
