Having a Break After Graduations

In today’s world everybody tries to earn money with the easiest and earliest way. They start to think how they earn money while studying at university. In the other hand some people prefer to enjoy what they do and do not want to think about money. They are just living what life gives them. There are some reasons which make them think like that. These people generally prefer to go off for travels for a year before getting the job after college graduates. Being tired, different cultures and being out of routines can be the reasons.

Firstly, people who graduated from college may have many problems while studying. At least they are thinking about their exams and graduations while studying and it makes them tired. So if they give a chance for themselves they can spend a year with enjoyable things and they can forget about what they suffer while they are student.

Secondly, when a person goes off for the travels, he can see different cultures and he can use his experiences after turn back his hometown for working. He can also be selected by employers because of his different experiences. For employers a person who knows different cultures is a chance. As a result when you decide to go off for the travels it can also helps you to be selected by employers.

Lastly, sometimes everybody wants to be out of routines. Travelling after college graduate is a chance to get rid of busyness. Everybody deserves a break for at least a year. They can spend their time for themselves and do whatever they want.

 In conclusion, everybody has chance to decide how to spend their time after their graduations. They can either start to work immediately or give a break for a year to enjoy. It is your choice what to do but there is one thing which should be remembered; if you forget to give breaks, breaks will forget you, too.

Optimism

In today’s world there are many problems with which we have to be faced. While some people have challenges in their career, other may have in their private life. Although the problems which we have, we should put a good show. Somebody can achieve it. They change their bad opinions with saying; if it happened, it means that it should have happened and this thinking style called optimism. In Longman’s dictionary optimism explained as followed: ‘’a tendency to believe that good things will always happen’’. We can look over optimism with some points which are its reasons, its results.

Firstly, as I mentioned, there are many issues we have to get over but in the same time we should seize the moment and live without remembering these problems. Optimism works in this situation. If you want to forget about negativities and continue enjoying optimism helps you. Secondly, when you are in a bad condition it says that this situation will disappear and you will gain something from what you lived. There is a character which is created in 1913 by Eleanor H. Porter and called Pollyanna. Pollyanna is a very important example about optimism. When a person thinks of goodness very much, others generally say that do not be Pollyanna.

There are also some results of optimism. To begin with, a person who is optimistic forgets about bad things and always focuses on goodness. So, he does not struggle with negativity. He is just interested in good things in his way. As a second one, when we look kindness, we start to make everything be good. For instance, while some people hate rain because of being wet, optimistic people enjoy with raindrops and at the end of the rainy day, optimistic people will gain something thanks to their thinking style. Lastly, thinking goodness calls good things in every situation. Generally, these people do not have to be faced with problems, in other words they do not see badness because they do not look this side.

To sum up, there are many reasons and results of optimism. They seem satisfied, it is your choosing how to live and think but everybody should remember that thinking creates our life and destiny. Now, you have a selection to change your destiny, make your choice.

Slumdog Millionaire vs. Separation

In today’s world, people give importance to art. Movies are the parts of art and they are appraised by film critics. Every year Oscar nights in which critics choose the best movie of the year, are done. Slumdog Millionaire and Separation are the two movies which were awarded. There are some similarities and differences between them.

The first similarity between these two movies is that, they have bought won the Oscar. They were criticized by similar people and deserved the reward. Secondly, these films’ nations are similar. They are both from undeveloped countries.

Despite these similarities, there are also some differences between them. First of all years that they won Oscars are different. While Slumdog Millionaire was rewarded in 2008, Separation was rewarded in 2011. Secondly, they are from different countries. Slumdog Millionaire is from India but Separation is from Iran. As last, their actors and actresses  are different. Their productions are also different from each other.

In conclusion, there are two valuable movies that you can watch. When we watch them, we can understand that they spent much labor for them. Oscar nights are waited by millions people. Let’s see who will be the winner for this year.

Types of Teachers

Teachers have been always very important for human beings. Their duty is very big because they are responsible from children and children are our future. Like everybody can be, teachers also can be different from each other. If we want to classify them, we can see three types of teacher.

 The first type is, authoritarian teachers. They are very hard to change, they apply discipline more than it requires. Besides, they always want their students to obey them, otherwise they punish with very hard punishments. They are always alone while giving courses and they want to continue it alone, too. In opposition to they should do, they do not allow their students to share their ideas. As you can imagine, in this type of teachers’ lessons students cannot be successful because they generally do not like their lessons.

The second type is, unconcerned teachers who actually do not like their job so they are not interested in their students. They are neither hard nor supporter for their students. They do not expect responsibility from the students and they also do not try to make them responsible. They usually do not have any aims and they show it to their students that’s why their students fell free and empty. Students who are taught by these teachers, cannot focus on their lessons so they cannot be successful.

The last type is, tolerant teachers that work with a big pleasure because they love what they do.  This type of teachers knows their students well. If their students do something which requires glory, they bless them. They can accept criticisms and they give importance on what their students think and say. They are also very good guides; additionally they have aims and plans so their students know what to do, too. They prepare their lessons with students and always trust and support them. They do not punish, if they really do not need to. In addition they are always objective. We can guess their students that love their lessons and teachers so they can success everything which are expected.

In conclusion, as I mentioned there are three types of teachers. We can see all of them in the same school because people are different. Types can differ from person to person but we can understand that teachers’ behaviours are effective on their students.

Causes of European Union and Its Possible Effects on the Participant Countries

Nowadays in our world, power is very important for countries. When we look for the power among countries, European Union which was found in 1992 takes our attention. European Union’s population includes 500 million people. EU has a really big role on politics but of course there are some causes for EU’s being. EU also affects countries in some ways.

  The first cause for foundation of EU is people’s wishes about being settled population. After crusade their prospects increased suddenly. They thought that if they can be settled population their health treatment can be done easily and they expected some financial sources and they decided to be organized. The second cause is gathering the power in one hand. If the power is summed in one hand, the countries which are the member of EU can manage not only their own country but also other countries. Finally, the last cause is; countries thought that if they come together, think and take some decisions together things would shape up in a better way and easily with the strength of the saying: “union makes strength”. 

  Just like the many reasons for its foundation, EU has some possible effects on countries. The first affect is; countries which are the members of EU can make comments about the internal affairs of the other countries. For example one country has a problem which seems like an international issue they immediately amalgamate and want from this country to do something. The second possible effect is the countries may have adaptation problems. For instance, as everybody knows that Turkiye has been trying to be a member of EU, however when the government wants to change and adapt something through EU, most of Turkish people is starting to be against of being member of EU. Joining EU is still discussed in Turkiye. The last effect is, as I mentioned before union makes strength and as we know that sharing ideas is very important, so the countries which are in EU can share their ideas and move through it. As a result; possibility of making mistake is decreasing for the members of EU.

To conclude, there are many causes and possible affects on some countries weather we know all the causes and effects of EU, it seems that big discussions about EU will never end because difference between different people’s ideas will always exist. But there is a one common thought that, EU can always affect either our social or our private life.

How to Improve Your Speaking in English

  Today, foreign languages are very important for people because it is the symbol of being a universal person. English is the most common foreign language in the world that’s why people always try to learn it. English has many parts to learn. Writing, grammar, reading, listening and speaking are the skills of English. One of them is given the most importance; speaking. There are many reasons which make it the most important one. If you agree that speaking is very important and need to improve it, you can follow these steps which I am going to mention to improve your speaking.

  Firstly, you should find a course which is working with native speakers. If you do not need to other skills in English you can just join speaking class. When you go to the course you should talk with a person who is interesting in your problem. You can take speaking lessons for 2 days in a week. So, you start to practice your speaking skills and at the course which you chose you probably have foreign friends with whom you can continue your friendship after the lessons.

  As a second step, if you have foreign friends as I mentioned, you should skype and chat with them. You can also meet with them so that you start to practice your speaking outside of the course and you can see that you will get use to make speeches in English. While speaking English looks like an unfamiliar job, after you do what I said your ideas will change and you will feel relax during your English speeches.

  Lastly, you should visit a foreign country where you can speak only English with people. It is necessary because if you do it you will improve either your speaking or your self-confidence while speaking. You will start to trust yourself and also you will have already got use to speak in English so you will start to think in English which will make you better in English.

  In conclusion, there are some ways to improve your English in speaking. I told some steps for make it easier. If you want to do something for your language and also meet some new cultures and people you can follow these steps.

My Observation

On the 22th of March I observed an oral communication class. The class was a little big and there were about forty chairs which were grey. There were no technological equipments and the walls were light blue. There was a panel which was drawn by students with some caricatures. The class was light and the cap was high. There were one table which was rectangle and also one teacher table which had a different style than normal tables. Teacher came in and he was wearing pink shirt, on his shirt there was a dark green feather and he was wearing a pair of black trousers on black shoes. There is not any part which attracts students’ attention too much. When he came into the class he said to students to put their cell phones on their bags. After he said good afternoon to his students, he ordered his table and started to take attendance. He looked like a little angry and his students seemed like nervous and stressful. He divided the class in three groups and they could see their faces but also they were in separate groups. He carried his chair in front of the class and sat in the middle of these groups. He asked about what they did lastly, students answered him, as a result they reminded information which was given in previous lessons. After that they opened their books and started to read a part which teacher said to read. The subject was visual aids and its types. Then he made all class speak about what they understood from the passage and joined them with his own examples. Besides, he wanted from students to do the exercises on the book, after they finished it, they started to answer. There was a student whose duty was making a speaking game, the teacher allowed her to do her game and sat at the back of the class.

Assignment 4

Everybody gives love an importance. Most of them shape their life through love. Love can be in every relationship. However, there is a place in which people show their love each other most, it is called family.  This picture shows us that situation. It is a room which seems like a saloon and also used as a bedroom by family members. The house is made with wood and there is just one window which is half broken and closed with papers. Sun is brightening the bed on which six boys and parents are sleeping. The boys are blond and they are little. They have just one blanket on them and they are sharing it. On the blanket there is a dog which is also sleeping. It is brown and very sweet. Father’s and one of the son’s feet are appearing from the blanket. Mother, father and three sons are sharing one pillow and the others are sharing one pad, too. With parents and three boys there is a cat which is sleeping next to pillow. It is yellow and has white lines. It is very small one. Each of them is smiling. When you see that it makes you think they are the happiest people in the world. The bed is very old and about to collapse. There is heater in the room which seems like unnecessary because their smiley faces are already heating the room. Father has an umbrella among their hands like it is used for protect their family members. There is a chicken which is looking them in front of the bed. The room is small, the bed is not enough to cover eight people, one cat and one dog but their heart is very big so they do not need anything else. The sun is shining on them like wants to show everybody their love and happiness. This painting, which is made by Abidin Dino, is called ‘the picture of happiness’ and these which I mentioned are the reasons why people call this picture with this name. Love does not require anything.

CLOUDS

It was 27^th September. I cannot remember the year. She was trying to wake up like every day she does. She snoozed her alarm clock and slept for ten minutes. After the second snooze she finally woke up.  Then she went to toilet and washed her face. When she looked through the mirror she noticed that her face was blooding! It was horrible because she could not see her face because of the blood. She touched her face and cleaned the blood. She finally could see her eyes. When she saw them, she noticed that she forgot the real color of her eyes. Then she left the bathroom and run to the sitting room because there was voice from there. As soon as she arrived there, she saw that the TV was opened and she looked at it. She was shocked! She closed her eyes and reopened again to see clearly, no there were no differences. She did not make a mistake, it was she! She was on the TV and police were searching her. She tried to raise the volume of the TV but she could not. She could just watch herself on TV but with doing anything. She touched her face before looked her hand if bleeding stopped or not. It was decreasing but her heart attack was increasing. She could not understand anything and decided to go to the doctor to show her face but what if police were going to arrest her? Although she did not know anything about her hunting, she was scared. There was nothing to do and she finally decided to leave home and see a doctor.  While she driving, she saw many cabs but she could escape from them. She achieved to arrive. She ascended the stairs and opened the doctor’s door without knocking. Doctor was surprised because it was not allowed to enter without knocking. As soon as he started to shout at her, she cut his speech and told that she had bleeding. The doctor saw what she said and told his patient that he should leave for few minutes. He examined her and wanted some examinations. She waited for hours and everything culminated. The doctor called her and said to her to sit. He started his speech;

-Have you ever talked with yourself?

-Are you kidding? She replied, I was thinking that I am here for examination!

-You should calm down, I am a doctor and also your doctor you should just answer my question, have you ever tried to touch yourself? Do you really care yourself? You are here because there was something wrong with your body and you thought that if you had not gone to doctor, you would have died. So you scared to die.

-A…Uuuh..Well…I cannot reply you doctor, I cannot.

-If you are really afraid of death, I think you are, it means that you love living and do not want to leave. But if you really do, you should have already answered my questions. You hushed yourself… Let’s get back to the examinations. There is no problem. You just ignore yourself and it is mad at you. That is all. Bleeding is just your body’s reaction. It tries to say something. I will give you a prescription. Try to do it.

He elongated the prescription and there is just a word that written on it;

“LISTEN.”

She drove home. She thought all along the road. When she arrived home she immediately opened the TV and looked for her news but there was not anything about her.

She went to her bed and slept. The day after, she wanted to go to the doctor again, she had many questions. They had really long conversation and she realized that because of her hunger of seeing herself, she just imagined that she was on the TV. The bleeding is just about her eyes, she looked her eyes after a long period and her body wanted to tell her something. That was all. She was relaxed now and after these experiences she started to be more sensitive to herself. There was long and perfect way which is waiting for her. When she realized that, she could start to walk. Clouds the rest...

  By the way, I guess you have been wondering about the information of ‘her’. Maybe you thought that I forgot to give her a name or I forgot to start. No, I did not. Of course she has a name but I do not know her name because I do not know your name. What is your name?

The big difference between different perspectives

TV Show's Effects on Teaching

   Education is the most important point in people’s life. Especially children are the keys of future and in their childhood everything can affect them. First, they start learning about which things are good or not in their childhood. According to that teaching to the children is very significant. The one way to teach something is using TV shows. For example; characters in cartoon can be role models for them. While they are watching cartoon, or TV shows like cartoon, they criticize what they see and start to apply it in their life, although they cannot be aware of what they are doing. What is more, we can learn that young brains like a sponge and they can absorb everything around them.

   As you see, you can inoculate good things through TV shows. Besides, they want to copy their favorite character’s behaviors. For instance; there is a cartoon which a child watches, there is a kidney and it always helps people, eats his meal in an order, act good behaviors to people who are older than him and save the world. He starts to think that, despite he does not know, if he will be like this character, everybody starts to love him and he can save the world. This opinion makes him behave like his favorite character. Moreover, these cartoons give children to find their skills. Specifically, they listen to music in cartoons and they can start to be interest in music. They also improve children’s visual and auditory skills. Because while watching either they hear or they see. Under the responsible people and your control, there is just one thing for you to do; push the TV control’s button.
